“NEW MEXICO” New York: Arbuckle Bros., c. 1889. Color-lithograph with original color.
This colorful miniature map of the Territory of New Mexico (admitted as a state in 1912) was produced by the Arbuckle Coffee Company as an incentive to purchase their coffee. The area, population, major cities, towns and rivers are identified. The view on the left depicts men confronting a bear in the piney woods.
