“MAP OF CUBA.” “JAMAICA” From "The People's Historial World Atlas", New York, Boston & Chicago: published by J. David Williams, c. 1873. Original hand-colored maps (water is color-printed). (Image: 12 x 17’’)
These two historical and decorative maps on one sheet are from a scarce and seldom seen atlas. They depict the islands with their counties named and in contrasting colors. Topographical features are shown with major cities, towns, railroads, mountains, islands and water routes identified. Very informative views of Cuba and Jamaica as they were known in the second half of the 19th century.
