It was published in Antwerp in 1569, at the famous Plantin Press. (Leaf measures 6 3/8 x 4 5/16'')
Dodoens (1517-1585) was a Flemish physician and botanist. The Florum et Coroniarum is one of the earliest illustrated treatises on garden flowers. The design for this woodcut was drawn by the artist Pieter van der Borcht. The block was cut by Arnaud Nicolai and G. van Kampen.
