This early 19th century map depicts Virginia with its counties in contrasting colors and topographical features detailed.  Various land, steam boat and rail routes (existing and proposed) are shown.

The inset depicts the ''Profile of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal''.  Coal mines and Salt Works,  (Kanawha County), and Court Houses are located. Also included is a chart with Steamboat Routes from Richmond to Norfolk, Washington and Baltimore, and from Wheeling to “Pittsburg” and Cincinnati.  A very detailed view of the state as it existed in the 1830's!
