It is a rare incunabula from the series of Bibles by Amerbach known as the “Fontibus et Graecis” editions. Amerbach was the earliest known printer who attempted to correct the Latin Vulgate text by comparison to the original Greek and Hebrew texts, and the name derives from a couplet on the dated last leaf of the book, which begins Fontibus et Graecis Hebraeorum quoque libris…” (From the Greek and Hebrew Sources…).
