Two two-line illuminated initials in blue and white on a red ground with gold penwork; one two-line illuminated initial in sepia and gold on blue ground with white penwork; fourteen one-line illuminated initials and thirteen illuminated line-extenders (six in branch-like forms) in gold on alternating blue, red and sepia ground with gold highlights.
The two-line illuminated “N” begins Psalm 123 (King James 124) complete: “Nisi …” (If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say: If it had not been that the Lord was with us, when men rose up against us, perhaps they had swallowed us up alive…Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth…).
The two-line illuminated “Q” begins Psalm 124 (KJ 125) complete: “Qui confidunt…” (They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Sion: he shall not be moved forever that dwelleth in Jerusalem. Mountains are round about it: so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth now and forever…).
The two-line illuminated “I” opens Psalm 125 (KJ 126): “In convertendo…” (When the Lord brought back the captivity of Sion we became like men comforted…).
