IM-13590:  Original leaf from a medieval illuminated manuscript Book of Hours. 25 lines, of red-ruled Latin in dark brown ink, written in fine gothic script on animal vellum with rubrics in blue.

Embellished with Two two-line illuminated initial in sepia and gold on a blue ground with white pen-work; thirteen one-line illuminated initials and thirteen illuminated line-extenders (five in branch-like forms) in gold on alternating blue, red and sepia ground with gold highlights.  

France, c. 1460.

The two-line gold “D” begins Psalm 8 complete: “Domine dominus…” (O Lord our Lord, how admirable is thy name in the whole earth! For thy magnificence is elevated above the heavens. Our of the mouth of infants and of suckling thou hast perfected praise, because of thy enemies, that thou mayst destroy the enemy and the avenger. For I will behold thy heavens, the works of thy fingers: the moon and the stars which thou hast founded. What is man that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man that thou visitest him? Thou has made him a little less than the angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honor: and hast set him over the works of thy hands…).

The two-line illuminated “C” begins  Psalm 18 (King James 19) 1-6: “Celi…” (The heavens show forth the glory of God, and the firmament declareth the work of his hands. Day to day uttereth speech, and night to night showeth knowledge…).
