This unusually detailed map depicts Boston as it was known in the 1890’s. Railroads are shown throughout. Major streets are named and several cemeteries, parks and squares are located. Numerous buildings and institutions are also identified (Museum of Fine Arts, State Prison, Lunatic Hospital…).
The insets along the bottom depict the “ENVIRONS OF BOSTON” and the “BUSINESS PORTION OF BOSTON”.
