$0.00

Manuscript Torah Scroll fragment of three panels in black ink on beautiful dark tan deer parchment.   Forty-two lines per column, written in a clear and precise Hebraic script - a very beautiful example of exceptionally fine calligraphy  (610 x 465mm - 24x18 inches – Text block: 450- x 435mm - 18x17 inches)

Western Asia (Persian Empire), circa   1650-1700.

This fragment is from the Pentateuch –It includes text from the fifth book of the Hebrew Bible, Debarim (Deuteronomy) 13:24-16:2, relating to sacrifices and tithes.

The scroll was written on the hair side (Gvil) of specially prepared deerskin in a process that darkened to a browner color over the centuries. The soft parchment remains supple and legible despite centuries of use in the Synagogue.
