Topographical features are shown with cities, villages, waterways, mountains and islands named.
The coastal region of Brazil names the divisions of the hereditary Portuguese “Captaincies” - each of which originally extended fifty leagues along the coast.
The title cartouche depicts Native Americans, flora and fauna, and wildlife.
