This detailed map depicts Nebraska and the territories of Dakota, Montana & Idaho.   

Dakota Territory includes an unnamed Wyoming Territory noted as an "unexplored Region" (Wyoming became a territory later in 1868, and gained statehood in 1890). Dakota Territory would be split and admitted as North and South Dakota in 1889. 

Topographical features are shown and major cities, towns, railroads (existing & proposed), telegraph routes, wagon routes (Old Emigrant Road, New Worked Emigrant Road, and Overland Route to the Gold Mines) are located. Indian Villages and Tribes are shown throughout the map, and the "Common Hunting Ground of the Blackfeet & Assiniboines" located in northern Montana.
