This detailed historical map depicts the area known today as southeastern Ontario. Counties are shown in contrasting colors with major cities, towns and waterways identified.

Major U.S. cities near the border are also located (Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo…).  A very attractive view of the region as it was known in the 1860’s.

Canada West was a name used 1841 to 1867 denoting the Ontario province and unsettled regions to the west.
