Annia Cupressenia Herennia Etruscilla was Augusta of the Roman Empire, wife of Emperor Decius, and mother of Emperors Herennius Etruscus and Hostilian.
Herennia married Trajan Decius probably before 230 and gained the title Augusta in 249. As with most third-century Roman Empresses, very little is known about Herennia. It is assumed that her ancestors settled in Etrurian lands. Probably of a senatorial family, she became regent for her son Hostilian, when Decius and Herennius were defeated and killed by the Goths at the Battle of Abrittus in 251 AD .Hostilian died of the plague later that year, and she sunk into obscurity.
