Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor. Printed Broadside Document in German with seal – Vienna, dated November 26, 1560. 

Sheet size: 14.5 x 21 inches 

A large boldly printed broadside document in the name of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor, not translated but apparently related to military matters. The document retains the large paper and wax embossed seal bearing Ferdinand’s arms. Countersigned by a court official at lower right “Haller” (Haller von Hallerstein, Baron of the Holy Roman Empire). 

Ferdinand I was the son of Philip and Joanna of Castile and the grandson of Ferdinand and Isabella. He succeeded his brother Charles V as Holy Roman Emperor in 1556 and reigned till his death in 1564.He and his wife, Anna of Bohemia and Hungary, had 15 children, all but 2 reached adulthood. His son Maximillian II succeeded him on the throne. 

The document is complete, has folds, soiling and small old paper repairs on the verso near the Haller signature. One fold is strengthened on the verso with archival tape.
