This unusually detailed map depicts Louisville as it was known in the 1890’s. Railroads are shown and major streets are named.  Several cemeteries and parks are located.

Numerous buildings and institutions are also identified (including City Hall, Public Library, City Hospital, Ky. Blind Asylum Institute, Masonic Temple, Home For Friendless Women, and Orphan Asylum).  The inset lower right depicts the “Southern Extension of Louisville”.
