Lavished embellished with a two-line illuminated initial in sepia and gold on a blue ground with white pen-work; one two-line illuminated initial in blue and white on sepia and gold ground; fourteen one-line illuminated initials and thirteen illuminated line-extenders (three in branch-like forms) in gold on alternating blue, red and sepia ground with gold highlights.

The one-line illuminated “C” continues Psalm 42 (King James 43) 5-6: “Confitebor…” (To thee, O God my God, I will give praise upon the harp: why art thou sad, O my Soul? And why dost thou disquiet me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God).
The two-line illuminated “S” begins Psalm 128 (KJ 129) complete: “Saepe…” (Often have they fought against me from my youth, let Israel now say. Often have they fought against me from my youth: but they could not prevail over me…And they that passed by have not said: The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we have blessed you in the name of the Lord…).
The two-line illuminated “D” begins Psalm 130 (KJ 131) 1-3: “Domine…” (Lord my heart is not exalted: nor are my eyes lofty. Neither have I walked in great matters, nor in wonderful things above me. If I was not humbly minded, but exalted my soul: As a child that is weaned is towards his mother, so reward in my soul…).
