This detailed view depicts the assassination of the Emperor at Kyoto. Hhe is located to the left of center with the number 4 on his chest. The key (upper left – Dutch; upper right – English) identifies the many people involved, including the tyrant “before whome the Japanners fall on the ground” (he is located to the right of center with the number 1 on his chest), Two armies clash with soldiers and people marching towards the palace.
