Seven multi-line illuminated initials alternating in deep blue with elaborate red penwork, and red with elaborate blue penwork - extending in to the margins. Numerous one-line illuminated initials alternating in deep blue and red. 51 lines of text in double columns (13 lines per inch!).
Produced in France, c. A.D. 1230 – early use of chapter numbering in the margins.
The two-line illuminated ''Q'' begins Psalm 41 (King James 42) through Psalm 48 (KJ 49) complete: ''Quemadmodum...'' (As the hart panteth after the fountains of water...); ''Judica...'' (Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is notholy...); ''Deus...'' (We have heard, O God, with our ears...); ''Eructavit...'' (My heart hath uttered a good work...); ''Deus...'' (Our God is our refuge and strength: a helper in troubles...); ''Omnes...'' (O clap your hands, all ye nations: shout unto God with the voice of joy...); ''Magnus...'' (Great is the Lord, and exceedingly to be praised...); ''Audite...'' (Hear these things, all ye nations...) and Psalm 49 (KJ 50): 1-15: ''Deus...'' (The God of gods, the Lord hath spoken: and he hath called the earth...).
