A superb 18th Century copperplate engraving: “REPRESENTATION de la MARRIAGE…” . Drawn from life by T. P. G. Haag (1737-1812) and engraved by Simon Fokke (1712-1784). Published at The Hague, Netherlands by P. G. van Balen, 1761.  

This is a remarkably complex original engraving showing the lavish state ceremony held in the Great Cathedral at the Hague on 5 March 1760. It depicts the marriage between Charles Christian, Prince of Nassau-Weilburg and Caroline, Princess of Orange and Nassau.  

Reference: M. Odrowaz-Sypniewska “The House of Nassau: Netherlands and Luxemburg”: C.aroline (1743-1787) married Charles Christian (1735-1788), Prince of Nassau-Weilburg. This line became the Grand Dukes of Luxemburg.
