This attractive map depicts the island of Barbados with the Parishes named and delineated. Topographical features are shown, and numerous towns, ports, harbors & bays are identified.
Bellin (1703-72) was attached to the French Depot de la Marine & charged with compiling charts of all the known seas. He was appointed hydrographer to the French Navy at 18 years and later became the Official Hydrographer to the King of France.
