ARTIST: Pierre-Emile Berthelemy (1818-90)

A very fine original etching by Berthelemy – one of France’s foremost marine artists of the 19th century. Berthelemy was a student of Cogniet and l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He exhibited frequently at the Paris Salon in the 1840’s & 1860’s and in Great Britain in the 1880’s.
