This very detailed map depicts Brabant, the old duchy of the Netherlands, which was divided between Belgium & Holland. Published during the War of Austrian Succession (1740-48).

The chart at the top chronicles events between May 3 and 11 October 1746. Provinces are named and delineated.  Topographical features are shown, and major cities, towns, mountains and water routes are identified.

 Le Rouge (fl. 1740-80) was a military engineer who took up cartography producing many fine, attractive and accurate atlases, sea charts, military campaigns and plans of fortifications.
