Nine illuminated two-line initials alternately in deep blue with fine red pen scroll tracery, & red with fine blue pen scroll tracery all extending into the margins. Fifteen illuminated one-line initials alternating in blue with red penwork and red with blue penwork.

The first illuminated blue “D” begins Psalm 44 (King James 45) 8, 2: “Dilexisti…” (Thou hast loved justice and hated iniquity: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows My heart hath uttered a good word : I speak my works to the King).
The illuminated “V” begins: “Vultum tuum…” (All the rich among the people shall entreat Thy countenance: after her shall virgins be brought to the King: her neighbors shall be brought to thee in gladness and rejoicing. My heart hath uttered a good word: I speak my works to the King).
The illuminated “C” begins Psalm 118 (KJ 119) 75, 120: “Cognovi…” (I know, O Lord, that Thy judgments are equity, and in Thy truth Thou hast humbled me: pierce Thou my flesh with Thy fear, I am afraid of Thy judgments. Blessed are the undefiled in the way: who walk in the law of the Lord…).
